ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court on Monday directed the government and semi-government organisations to devise mechanisms for payment of pension to retired employees within one month.
A three-member bench of the court, headed by Justice Mian Saqib Nisar, heard the suo moto notice case regarding delays in payment of pensions to retired employees.
During the course of proceedings, a 74-year-old retired employee appeared in the court and said he was receiving Rs4,000 pension while another petitioner complained that 3,000 retired employees of the local bodies, Rawalpindi, had not received their pensions for the last six months.
