Cops to protect UET Jalozai Campus
NOWSHERA: The police on Monday assured provision of cops for manning checkposts and patrolling at the University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Jalozai Campus.
The decision was taken at a meeting to review security situation at the campus.Vice-Chancellor Dr Iftikhar Hussain, Registrar Dr Hizar Azam, District Nazim Liaqat Khattak and police officers attended the meeting.
The Jalozai campus was closed over failure to adopt the recommended security measures. The university administration said that students of the campus had been taking classes at the UET main campus since April.
The officials added that next year 1200 students of UET Jalozai campus would take classes at the main campus. They said it would not be possible for the main campus to manage such huge number of students. The police officials at the meeting assured the university representatives of providing adequate security personnel to ensure foolproof security.
