Tree plantation campaign launched

BAHAWALPUR: A massive tree plantation campaign was launched at the Islamia University, Bahawalpur, on Friday.
The Estate Care department launched the drive on the directions of the Vice-Chancellor and some 10,000 plants would be planted across the IUB campuses.
Parliamentary Secretary Chaudhry Khalid Mehmood Jajja, the VC and others inaugurated the drive at Baghdad-ul-Jadeed Campus.
On the occasion, the VC said some 1,575 pomegranate plants have been planted on the first day of the campaign.
The VC added that 74 per cent of the area of the Baghdad-ul-Jadeed Campus is being leveled for cultivation and till now 76 acres of land has been reclaimed.
