Alternate traffic routes for 12th Rabi-ul-Awwal

The city’s traffic police on Friday issued a traffic diversion plan for the 12th Rabi-ul-Awwal processions scheduled for Sunday.
The day’s first procession will be organised from Kakri Ground to Memon Masjid; two more rallies will be held from Memon Masjid to Aram Bagh Masjid and Nishtar Park.
The Dawat-e-Islami’s procession will start from Kakri Ground at 10:30am and head towards Memon Masjid. The route would be as follows: Kakri Ground, Nawab Mohabbat Khanjee Road, Jamaat Khana, G Allana Road, Merewether Tower and Memon Masjid.
Maulana Asghar Dars and Akbar Dars will organise a procession from Memon Masjid to Aram Bagh Masjid at 2:30 pm. The route would be: Memon Masjid, MA Jinnah Road, Tibet Centre, Regal Chowk, Shahrah-e-Liaquat, Fresco Chowk and Aram Bagh Masjid.
The Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat procession led by Shah Turab-ur-Haq Qadri will start from Memon Masjid at 3:00pm and head towards Nishtar Park. The route would be: Memon Masjid, MA Jinnah Road, Tibet Centre, Numaish and Nishtar Park.
Instructions
The traffic police have issued the following instructions: as soon as the procession will assemble and start from Kakri Ground, all traffic from Lea Market, Agra Taj Colony, Crane Chowrangi, G Allana Road and Kharadar would not be allowed to proceed towards Kakri Ground.
The traffic from Keamari via Jinnah Bridge would not be allowed to move to Merewether Tower. Toads, streets and lanes on both sides of the procession routes would be closed for traffic.
Traffic would be diverted to alternate roads from the following points from Merewether Tower, Purani Numaish and Nishtar Park: the junction of Merewether Tower and MA Jinnah Road, the junction of II Chundrigar Road and Mumtaz Hussain Road, the junction of II Chundrigar Road and Mir Karam Ali Talpur Road, the junction of Shahrah-e-Liaquat and Awan-e-Alamgir Road, the junction of Shahrah-e-Liaquat and Saria-e-Alamgir Road, the junction of Shahrah-e-Liaquat and Altaf Hussain Road, the junction of Shahrah-e-Liaquat and Hassan Ali Affandi Road, the junction of Shahrah-e-Liaquat and Dr Ziauddin Ahmed Road, the junction of Shahrah-e-Liaquat and Baba-e-Urdu Road, the junction of Shahrah-e-Liaquat and Mohammad Bin Qasim Road, the junction of Shahrah-e-Liaquat and High Court Road, the junction of Shahrah-e-Liaquat and Sarmad Road, the junction of Shahrah-e-Liaquat and Abdullah Haroon Road, the junction of Preedy Street and Dr Daudpota Road, the junction of Preedy Street, the junction of AH Road opposite Ghafoor Chambers, the junction of Aga Khan Road and Grammar School, the junction of Dr Daudpota Road and Mansfield Street, Mansfield Street and Lines Area, all roads linking Mansfield Street to Purani Numaish, the junction of Shahrah-e-Quaideen and the link road behind Mazaar-e-Quaid, the junction of the link road behind Mazaar-e-Quaid and Dadabhoy Noorji Road, the intersection opposite the Islamia College, the junction of Altaf Hussain Road and the City Court near Denso Hall, the junction of Dr Tahir Saifuddin Road and Hassan Ali Affandi Road behind the sessions courts building, the junction of Hassan Ali Affandi Road and Chand Bibi Road, the junction of NJV School and MA Jinnah Road, the junction of Jamila Street and Anklesaria Hospital, the junction of Aga Khan III Road and Coast Guard Road, the junction of Soldier Bazaar and Kiyani Road opposite the Coast Guard Headquarters, the junction of Soldier Bazaar and Mansfield Street, all links roads on Bahadur Yar Jang Road to Guru Mandir, all roads linking Altaf Hussain Road and Anklesaria Hospital.
The traffic from University Road via New MA Jinnah Road will not be allowed to proceed to MA Jinnah Road from the Islamia College roundabout and the junction of the New MA Jinnah Road and the link road behind Mazaar-e-Quaid. It would be diverted to Shahrah-e-Quaideen Road and Allah Wali Chowrangi.
The traffic approaching Guru Mandir from Jamshed Road, Jahangir Road and Business Recorder Road would not be allowed to move to Purani Numaish, Nishtar Park via MA Jinnah Road and Bahadur Yar Jang Road and diverted to alternate roads at these points.
All roads from Bahadur Yar Jung Road and Guru Mandir to Mansfield Street would be closed.
The traffic from Shahrah-e-Quaideen will not be allowed to proceed towards Purani Numaish and diverted to the Society intersection.
When the procession would move from Memon Masjid to Aram Bagh Masjid, traffic from Empress Market would be diverted towards Zaibunnisa Street and from Shahrah-e-Liaquat to Aram Bagh traffic signal and Dr Ziauddin Road. Traffic on Court Road would be diverted to MR Kiyani Chowk.
Vehicles would not be allowed to be parked from Tibet Chowk to Regal Chowk and Aram Bagh Masjid.
