Fear grips Bara as wolf attacks people
BARA: The Bara tehsil of Khyber Agency is in the grip of fear after a wolf attacked people in different areas.
The locals said a minor boy was playing outside his home when a wolf attacked him in Sipah area in Bara tehsil. He was critically injured and rushed to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
Local sources said the wolf also injured two persons identified as Haji Tila Jan and Karim in the area. They were shifted to the Dogra Hospital in Bara. At least 30 people have been injured by wolves during the last seven months in the Kajori area in Bara, a local tribesman said.
The local people demanded the government to adopt measures to kill the wild animals including wolves and pigs forthwith. The security forces had taken away the small weapons from the local people during search operations. “Now we have no weapons even for self-defence,” a tribesman Irfan Afridi remarked.
