ABBOTTABAD: The Government College University, Lahore, clinched the overall trophy in the 20th “All Pakistan Burn Hall Bilingual Declamation Contest” on Thursday.
Over 60 students consisting of 30 teams from different renowned colleges and universities participated in the initial round. Five best teams, including Military College of Signals, Cadet College Hassanabdal, Cadet College Kohat, Pakistan Military Academy Kakul and Government College University, Lahore, qualified for the final round.In the final round, the students of Government College University, Lahore, after a nail biting competition won the 20th All Pakistan Burn Hall bilingual declamation trophy.
A former Principal Army Burn Hall College Brig (r) Muhammad Asif, who was also chief guest at the concluding ceremony, awarded trophies and certificates to the position holders.Saad Khan and Rana of the Government College University, Lahore, grabbed first positions in the English and Urdu declamation contests, respectively.
Tashfeen Abbasi, Amir Khurshed and Nabeela Ejaz were judges for English while Rubina Sohail, Shafat Umar and Qadeer Qureshi were judges for Urdu competitions.The students of English Literary Society and Bazm-e-Adab Society had arranged the contest.Speaking on the occasion, Principal Army Burn Hall College, Brig Wajid Qayyum Paracha thanked all the teams for participating in the competitions.
