Abidi visits university in Bahrain

LAHORE 

Renowned educationist Syed Abidi, who is visiting Bahrain on the invitation of Ambassador of Pakistan to Bahrain Javed Malik, visited the Applied Science University, one of the leading private universities in the Kingdom.

The objective of his visit to the university and meeting with its authorities was to familiarise with the university structure in Bahrain and to discuss opportunities of bilateral and academic collaborations, perhaps with Pakistani universities and to develop relations for overseas Pakistani students finding their study opportunities at ASU.The university, according to Syed Abidi, is a state-of-the-art university which offers undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in a number of faculties, including social sciences, business, management and engineering.

The president of the university, Prof Ghassan, is a highly experienced academic, researcher and innovator who is working in the academia as pro-vice chancellor in the United Kingdom and as president in universities of Middle East. He has intensive experience of developing research and innovation and his vision is to transform ASU into a leading university of the Gulf. He was very supportive and optimistic on bringing internationalisation at ASU and was interested to discuss academic links with reputed international universities, the including the universities of Pakistan.
