Polio team attacked, worker injured

LAHORE

A polio worker received injuries when locals of Shahdra attacked a polio team on Wednesday.

Local police reached the scene and controlled the situation. The victim has been identified as Irum. She had reached Begum Kot with polio team but the locals refused to administer drops.

The polio team tried to convince locals about the benefits of drops. Over this the locals got furious and started manhandling workers. The male members of the team fled the scene. The victim woman was thrashed by locals. The district administration has filed an application against locals for the registration of FIR.

Killer of eight arrested

CIA police arrested a man who was involved in eight murders. The arrested murderer identified as Abdul Waheed alias Waheedian had confessed to killing Billa Pehlwan, father of Tipu Tarakanwala, and five others in Sessions Court, Lahore. —Correspondent
