PPP puts off Diwali celebrations
The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), on Tuesday, announced to postpone its Diwali celebrations scheduled to be held in Ghotki on October 30, to mourn the tragic attack on police cadets in training centre in Quetta.
The decision was made in view of the directions given by PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.
PPP Sindh President Nisar Ahmed Khuhro said, in a statement, that owing to the Quetta tragedy the party’s event to celebrate Diwali in the province had been postponed. He said the PPP chairman had appealed to the Hindu community to celebrate the festival with simplicity, and light earthenware oil lamps to commemorate the sacrifices of the victims.
