Sit-in politicians have no agenda of development, says Shahbaz
LAHORE: Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that those engaged in sit-ins, protest and lockdown of cities are trying to hamper the process of national development and prosperity.
He said these elements have no interest in the progress of Pakistan or solution of public problems and their sole agenda is to destroy the country. He said the people ask these elements whose agenda they are trying to promote and why they want to stop the process of development through promotion of chaos in the country.
Talking to elected representatives on Monday, Shahbaz Sharif said that after repeated defeats, these rejected elements were facing bewilderment and trying to take every undemocratic step as could weaken the democratic system and hinder development process. He said these elements, which had promoted politics of anarchy during the last three and a half years, were rendered isolated in political field due to their negative attitude.
He said those who wanted to lock down cities were against CPEC, energy projects, motorways and other development programmes, which could generate employment opportunities and result in national progress.
He said these elements were afraid that if these projects were completed within next 18 months, they would again face defeat. He said the real agenda of these so-called politicians was to create hurdles in the way of CPEC and other development projects.
Shahbaz Sharif said that after hearing of Panama Leaks case in the Supreme Court, there was no moral or political justification for locking down Islamabad. He said the prime minister had welcomed the hearing of the case in Supreme Court with an open heart.
He said those trying to create hurdles in the process of national development would not succeed in their negative designs and the people of Pakistan would foil this conspiracy. He said the people had rejected negative politics at every level and those taking decisions on roads would face failure and disappointment.
He said that sit-in politicians neither had agenda for national development and prosperity of people nor they believed in political values. He said these elements only wanted to promote chaos and negative politics in the country. The chief minister advised the elements engaged in negative politics to give up their undemocratic attitude and make efforts for the progress and development of the country.
