Minor dies after falling into manhole
LAHORE
A four-year-old boy died after falling into a manhole near Suggian Bridge Shahdara on Wednesday.
The victim was identified as Almas, son of Muhammad Ashraf of Nain Sukh Shahdara. The boy was playing outside his house when he disappeared. The family began a search for the boy and later spotted him lying dead in the manhole.
The area people, the victims’ family members and relatives protested against the city district government for its negligence which caused death of the child.
The victim’s family members, relatives and locals chanted slogans against the department concerned. The protesters demanded action against officials of the city strict government and measures to avert further loss of human lives. The DCO has taken notice of the incident and directed the ADCG to hold an inquiry and submit report within 24 hours.
