Qaim, Khuhro or Chandio to be next PPP Sindh chief
Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, on Wednesday, finalised names of three candidates for the slot of party’s provincial chapter head.
The nominees were former Sindh chief minister, Syed Qaim Ali Shah, senior PPP parliamentary leader, Nisar Ahmed Khuhro, and advisor to chief minister, Maula Bux Chandio.
The names were agreed upon after having received recommendations from all districts of Sindh, the chairman was quoted to have said in a statement issued from the Bilawal House’ media cell, on Wednesday.
“The final candidate would be chosen after consultation with the party’s hierarchy,” the press release further read.
According to the press release, the new body would be reflective of the party workers’ aspirations.
Similar elections would be conducted in other provinces as well as Azad Jammu and Kashmir; district bodies would also be elected.
Besides consulting the senior party leadership, the chairman would personally interview the three candidates.
The nominations were gathered through general workers meetings, held in all main district offices of the PPP in the last four months.
