KARACHI: A spokesman for Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad Khan has rejected the serious allegations levelled by Chairman of Pak Sarzameen Party against the governor, saying that such claims are baseless, misleading, and fabricated.

“The role of the governor is in front of the masses as he had been given honour and recognition by every section of the society,” said the spokesman for the Sindh Governor House in a statement on Monday.

The spokesman said that Mustafa Kamal seemed to be seriously affected by mental pressure and contradictions, keeping in view all statements and press conferences addressed by him.

He said that the name of any good psychiatrist could be referred to Mustafa Kamal if he required treatment from the doctor keeping in view the "bipolar disorder" he had been suffering from. “He is like an unguided missile and spent cartridge,” he said. The spokesman for the governor said that Kamal had touched such a mental level perhaps due to consistent failures he had to face.

He made it clear that the governor had always ensured the prevalence of merit, transparency, and welfare of people. "Owing to this fact, Dr Ishratul Ebad Khan had been given recognition both on national and international level."

Earlier, the Chairman of Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP), Mustafa Kamal, lashing out at the Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad, on Monday said that the governor was known in Sindh as “Rishwatul Ebad”.

He demanded for his immediate arrest by the government and for putting his name on the Exit Control List. He claimed the governor and the MQM founder were the biggest Raw agents the country had seen.

Kamal was speaking to journalists outside a party leader’s house which came under attack earlier on Monday. Without divulging any details of a so-called Dubai meeting in which the governor was present, he said that money from ‘china-cutting and RAW’ were sent to the MQM founder through him (Ibad). “For the last 14 years, Ishratul Ibad has been the governor and he knows a lot that is happening. Ibad has minted billions of rupees in china cutting and he is still getting money from the city government," alleged Kamal.

He said the governor was only interested in saving his post without caring what happens in the city. "The Sindh governor has a big role in the politics of Karachi and he just wants to remain the governor and is least bothered about the welfare of people."

He said that Ibad wanted to become the head of PSP but they had refused and a dialogue in this regard continued for one-and-a-half months. He said that Anees Qaimkhani and Raza Haroon approached the governor to quit the Muttahida Qaumi Movement and join his party.

He alleged that the governor was still in touch with the MQM founder and had a telephonic talk with the MQM founder when he was acquitted in the money laundering case in London and Ibad had congratulated him.

He called Ibad the “establishment’s man” saying that he speaks to the DG Rangers, DG ISI and corps commanders. He said they would not demand security from the government. "Ashfaq Mangi and his colleagues joined us on their own and we never asked them to do so," he added. “It is the state’s duty to give me security. We have challenged India, challenging Altaf Hussain is equal to challenging India.”

Kamal alleged that the MQM founder was still getting oxygen from Pakistan. He said that no one was ready to vote for the MQM Pakistan adding that its chief Dr Farooq Sattar had changed his stance several times.

Earlier, unknown men opened fire at the Pak Sarzameen Party leader Ashfaq Mangi’s residence in Gulistan-e-Jauhar on Monday, police said. According to Mangi, he was present in the house when four men opened fire at his residence.
