Peace rally in Faisalabad

FAISALABAD: A peace rally was organised here on Tuesday.
The rally was organised to show unity, solidarity and harmony regarding maintaining peace on Ashura. Commissioner Momin Agha, RPO Bilal Siddique Kamyana, DCO Salman Ghani, CPO Afzal Kausar, members of parliaments including Haji Akram Ansari, Begum Khalida Mansoor, Haji Ilyas Ansari, Dr Najma Afzal, Kh Muhammad Islam and Peace Committee members Syed Jafar Hussain Naqvi, Dr Iftikhar Hussain, representatives of civil society and citizens belonging to various walks of life participated in the peace walk which started from main Imambargah Diglouspura and passed through Kotwali Road, Bowana Bazaar, Clock Tower Chowk and main rout of Ashura procession. The commissioner and the RPO said that all-out resources were being used for ensuring foolproof security on Ashura. They said that the Peace March depicted the sentiments of the society regarding maintaining the religious harmony and peace during the sensitive days of Muharram. The parliamentarians said that the Punjab government believes in promoting inter-sectarian peace and inter-faith harmony and peace rally was also showing the message of hope and peace. They said that comprehensive security measures had been made for smooth observance of Muharram.
