Visits uplift schemes in Nowshera

NOWSHERA: Chief Minister Pervez Khattak on Sunday said that the coalition government was working on ways and means to put the province on road to development.

Speaking after inspecting development projects here, he said that the government had brought improvement in the services sector in Khyber Pakhtunhwa.

Pervez Khattak claimed that his party would win next elections on the basis of its performance as it had been pursuing pro-people policies.

The chief minister said that he was following a comprehensive policy to achieve his party objectives of putting Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on the track.

He said the nation had put confidence in the leadership of Imran Khan, saying that the mission of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chief had brought a visible change in the country’s politics.

“Politicians are afraid of this mission and are spreading propaganda against Imran Khan and PTI,” he added.

He inspected the pace of work of the embankments being constructed along the Kabul River, Kheshgi bridge, Nowshera Medical Complex and Nowshera Medical College.

Pervez Khattak said that work on the establishment of Food Street in Peshawar would start soon. He said construction of sports complex and Food Street in Nowshera could start if people were willing to give land for these projects.

During his visit to District Headquarters Hospital, Pervez Khattak lauded the services of the former Jamaat-e-Islami chief late QaziHussain Ahmed for initiating work of the hospital.

He criticised the previous government for not allocating funds for the hospital.

Pervez Khattak was briefed about the construction of embankments along the Kabul River.

He was told that length of the embankments on the right side of the river was 35 kilometers while its length on the left side would be12 kilometers.

The chief minister was informed that work on the four kilometers embankments from Momin Garhi to Bara was in progress.

The chief minister directed the officials to raise the level of the embankments so that it could protect the villages along the river in case of high level floods.

During the inspection, he inquired from the villagers about the quality of work on these projects, who expressed satisfaction.

Pervez Khattak asked the villagers to keep a check on the development works and report any anomaly to authorities.

He said that he had raised the issue of construction of embankments in the area after the 2010 floods.
