Amir returns home to visit ailing mother
KARACHI: Pacer Rahat Ali is expected to be included in the Pakistan line-up for their third and final One-day International against the West Indies in Abu Dhabi after Mohammad Amir returned home because of his mother’s illness.
The left-armer had to fly back home after his mother was taken seriously ill, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said on Tuesday. Amir will miss the ODI series finale against the West Indies to be played in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday (today).
“The team management has allowed Amir to return home to attend to his mother who is seriously ill,” the PCB said in a statement.
Amir took a total of two wickets in the first two One-day Internationals in Sharjah which Pakistan won by 111 and 59 runs respectively. But he is expected to return for the first of three Tests in Dubai, which will be played under lights with a pink ball, starting from October 13.
Pakistan are expected to include Rahat Ali in the line-up while pacer Sohail Khan is also in the hunt to be a part of the playing eleven.
