Five students among 12 go ‘missing’ in Bahawalpur

BAHAWALPUR: Twelve people, including five students of different colleges and an employee of the regional election commissioner office reportedly went missing from Cheema Town on Friday night.
According to the parents of missing students Yousaf Rafiq, Umer Rafiq and Muhammad Shafique, their children had been living in a rented room adjacent to a seminary in the town.
The parents of a student told The News in the DPO Office the locals claimed that about 20 to 25 officials in black uniform raided the seminary and rounded up several people from the area.
Former MPA Haji Zulfiqar while talking to The News in the DPO Office said that the raiding personnel also took away a man from his dera. He further said that an employee of the regional election commissioner office was also rounded up by the raiding team.
When contacted, Sadr DSP Rao Jamshed said that he had no information about the raid. The CTD officials also denied conducting any raid in the area.
