Chinese investors keen to launch garbage disposal, housing projects

A 10-member delegation from China called on Karachi’s Deputy Mayor Dr Arshad Abdullah Vohra at his office on Friday and showed keen interest in making investments in the city.

The Chinese government has shown keen interest in making investments in Karachi in different fields, particularly in housing schemes, garbage disposal and energy and industry.

Vohra said there was now an conducive atmosphere for investment in Karachi and the investors would be provided tight security.

The delegation informed the deputy mayor that the China had gone far ahead in terms of technology in the world and would also impart training to youngsters in different fields.

He said the city was facing a serious problem with the disposal of garbage in a scientific manner. To this, the delegation said they had the latest technology to dispose of the city’s garbage and generate energy through waste.

The deputy mayor said that if investors from China came to the city, local investors could also join them and benefit from their experience and expertise.

The Chinese delegates said the two countries had strong ties and would continue to cooperate with each other in different fields. The meeting was told that next month, another delegation from China would also visit Karachi to explore investment opportunities.
