Security plan for Muharram in Hangu devised
HANGU: The district administration on Wednesday chalked out a foolproof security plan to maintain peace during Muharram, an official said.
District Police Office (DPO) Shah Nazar Khan told the reporters that 3,524 cops, three platoons each of army and Frontier Corps and four platoons of Frontier Constabulary would be deployed in the district to avert any untoward incident in Muharram.
The DPO said that display of arms, use of loudspeakers and pillion riding was banned in the district. Apart from this, the official said, that checkpoints would be established on the entry and exit points and mountains peaks and high points to cope with any eventuality. He said that 35 lady cops would also be deployed along the male cops at the entry and exit points for search.
The official said markets in the city would be kept close on the ninth and 10th of Muharram and mobile phone services would be suspended in the city. He said that eight of the 27 imambargahs in the district were declared sensitive.
