PESHAWAR: The newly admitted students of the University of Engineering and Technology in undergraduate programme were accorded a warm welcome by the management, faculty, and senior students on Wednesday.
Addressing the newcomers, UET Acting Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Iftikhar Hussain said that graduates of the UET were serving in different fields of engineering all over the world. “Some of them have reached the highest posts of their respective fields, which shows the quality education provided to the students at UET,” he said.
Dr Iftikhar said that majority of the faculty at UET Peshawar were PhDs and the number of PhD faculty was increasing with each passing year. He said that soon the UET Peshawar would introduce Outcome-Based Education (OBE) System, which would increase credibility of the university graduates worldwide.
UET Registrar Dr Khizar Azam, Director Admissions Dr Misbahullah, UBL officials, faculty members, a large number of students and their parents were also present on the occasion.
