Students of Working Folks Grammar School stage protest
PESHAWAR: The students of the Working Folks Grammar School on Tuesday staged a protest against the closure of the schools due to protest of the teaching staff and other employees against the non-release of their withheld salaries.
The protesting students were carrying banners and placards inscribed with slogans in favour of their demands. They gathered outside the Press Club to stage the protest. The protesting students said the teachers and other staff had been on strike due to non-payment of salaries for six months due to which their precious time was being wasted.
They said that access to education was the right of every child but lamented that the children of working class were being denied the very right. They demanded the government to release the withheld salaries of the employees of the Working Folks Grammar School and ensure the teachers attendance at schools.
