CM orders action against harmful oil producers

Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has directed that indiscriminate action should be taken against the mafia involved in producing harmful ghee and oil. 

Addressing a meeting through a video link here on Monday, the chief minister said the elements involved in nefarious trade of hazardous oil and ghee deserved maximum punishment and it was the responsibility of departments concerned, Food Authority and administration to take stern action against such elements. He said those involved in this evil trade deserved no leniency and should be awarded deterrent punishment.

The chief minister ordered action under PEEDA Act against the prosecutor who failed to properly follow the case against a factory producing harmful oil in Multan and directed Punjab Minister for Food, Additional Chief Secretary and acting secretary food to immediately reach Multan. He expressed his displeasure over the failure to sort out the affairs of special food courts and directed the authorities concerned to take immediate steps in this regard.

Provincial Minister for Food Bilal Yasin, Additional Chief Secretary, Secretary Public Prosecution, acting secretary food and Director General Punjab Food Authority attended the meeting through a video link from Civil Secretariat while Commissioner Multan Division, Additional IG Special Branch, DCO Multan and authorities concerned participated in the meeting from Multan through a video link.
