Announces new tehsil, uplift projects in Abbottabad

ABBOTTABAD: Chief Minister Pervez Khattak said on Sunday that his government discouraged the politics of loot and plunder.

“Some politician sold jobs in public sector institutions in the past and played
politics over issues of public interest,” he told public gatherings at Union Council Barot, Dalola and Tanawal during his visit.

Special Assistant to Chief Minister Mushtaq Ghani, Member National Assembly (MNA) Dr Azhar Jadoon and others addressed the gathering.

The chief minister announced a tehsil in the area and asked the elected representatives and the people for the selection of central place for the Tehsil Headquarters, which should be accessible to Barot and Dalola.

He announced a development package for Barot, Dalola and Lohar Tanwan Sherwan in road communication, education and health sectors. The chief minister complained that the federal government never treated the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as one of the federating units of the country.

He said his government succeeded in getting Rs100 billion arrears of the net hydel profit from the federal government and approved Chashma Lift Irrigation scheme for the province. Pervez Khattak said the provincial government would bear 30 percent and the federal government would provide 70 percent funds for the project.

He added his government would use natural gas for producing cheap electricity for its onward provision to the industrial estates in the province.

The chief minister accused the federal government of stealing 600 megawatt
electricity of KP on daily basis. He said that the federal government had promised to provide share of electricity to the province but the pledge was not honoured.

Pervez Khattak asked Advisor to Prime Minister Amir Muqam to advocate the cause of the province instead of defending the federal government. The chief minister said the Raiwind march would be a big jolt to the federal government. “Imran Khan wants a corruption-free Pakistan. The country had suffered a lot due to the wrong policies of the political elite over the year,” he added.
