‘Indian govt unnecessarily building tension along borders’

Senate chairman briefs Filipino counterpart on Kashmir

ISLAMABAD: Chairman Senate Mian Raza Rabbani brought to the notice of the President of the Senate of the Philippines the gross violation of human rights in Indian Occupied Kashmir by the Indian security forces, the killing and injuring of innocent women and children

In a meeting with President of the Philippines Senate Aquilino ‘Koko’ Pimenel III in Manila, Chairman Senate Mian Raza Rabbani pointed out that pellets  are being used as a consequence of which a large number of children have lost their eyesight. He further pointed out that India is unnecessarily building tension along the borders.

Chairman Senate of Pakistan explained in detail Pakistan’s experience of federalism in the light of the 18th Amendment to the Constitution. He offered Pakistan’s help in devising mechanism whether they be constitutional, administrative, fiscal or political as the Philippines begins the task of restructuring its system to federal structure.

He further said, “Owing to similarities existing between Pakistan and the Philippines, our experience can be of help.” Mian Raza Rabbani also invited the president of the Senate of Philippines to visit Pakistan.

Earlier, Mian Raza Rabbani invited the former president of the Senate of the Philippines Mr. Drillon to breakfast and both of them exchanged views on matters of mutual interest.
