Scattered rain forecast

LAHORE

Partly cloudy weather with scattered rain was observed in the provincial capital here Thursday while Met office predicted scattered rain on Friday (today).

The Met officials said weak seasonal low lies over north Balochistan and its adjoining areas while a shallow westerly wave is still affecting Kashmir and its adjoining areas. They predicted mainly hot and dry weather in most parts of the country while rain-thunderstorm is expected at isolated places in Malakand, Hazara, Kohat, Bannu, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sargodha, Faisalabad divisions, Islamabad, Fata, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.

Rain was recorded in various cities, including DI Khan (40mm), Lower Dir (29mm), Parachinar (17mm), Pattan (12mm), Malam Jabba and Saidu Sharif (05mm), Kohat (04mm), Cherat and Dir (03mm), Peshawar (02mm), Jhelum (10mm), Lahore (University of Punjab 10mm, City 03mm, Sialkot (08mm), Murree and Chakwal (06mm), Mangla (05mm), Jhang (04mm), Faisalabad (03mm), Mandi Bahauddin (02mm), Noorpur Thal and Kamra (01mm), Bagrote (14mm), Bunji (04mm), Astore (02mm), Chillas and Gilgit (01mm), Muzaffarabad (12mm) and Garhi Dupatta (05mm).

Thursday’s highest maximum temperature was recorded at Nokkundi where mercury reached 44°C while in Lahore it was 30°C and humidity was 75 percent.
