Attacker killed in encounter with Charsadda police
CHARSADDA: An attacker was killed in an alleged police encounter after three gunmen reportedly ambushed a police patrolling van in the limits of the City Police Station here, police sources said.
The sources said that the security forces also arrested three suspected persons in Umarzai area.They said the cops of the City Police Station were on a routine patrol when ambushed by the gunmen in Belakoroona area. The cops escaped unhurt in the attack on the van.
The sources said the cops returned the fire in which an alleged attacker identified as Ahmad Ali, son of Arshad Ali, and a resident of Qazikhel area, was killed while his two other accomplices escaped.They said that the police van was damaged in the incident. The body of the attacker was handed over to the relatives for burial after carrying out autopsy.
