Farewell party held for outgoing officials of Peshawar administration

PESHAWAR: Deputy Commissioner Riaz Khan Mahsud and other staff of the district administration offices paid tribute to three outgoing officials of the Peshawar administration for their services.
The deputy commissioner said it was a bit of loss to him and his team as they would always feel the absence of the outgoing officers.
“But I am happy that all of these officers had been promoted and given more important responsibilities to perform on their level,” Riaz Khan Mahsud said while speaking at a farewell function held in honour of the three outgoing officers.
They included Additional Deputy Commissioner Peshawar Osama Ahmad Warraich, who has been transferred and posted as deputy commissioner Chitral, Mumtaz Ahmad was posted as deputy secretary Labour Department and Shahana Shakir was posted as assistant commissioner Jehangira in Nowshera district.
The deputy commissioner said the people of Peshawar would always remember services of the officers.
“?All of them were crucial members of my team. Osama Warraich was my right hand. ?He proved himself a very active and professional officer during his stay in Peshawar. The role he played against encroachments is matchless,” he said.
Riaz Mahsud said that launching a crackdown against encroachments in the provincial capital was no doubt a difficult task, it was due to those young officers that enabled him to over this important but very sensitive issue.
Osama Waraich, on behalf of the outgoing officials, thanked the deputy commissioner for praising their work.
“For ? for all the young officers, support and guidance of their seniors is always very important.
And we were lucky as we had a very nice and supportive boss in the form of Riaz Khan Mahsud. He gave us respect and guided us in our work,” Osama Waraich said.
He said the deputy commissioner empowered them and owned whatever they did for betterment of people and development of the city.
Osama, who belongs to Punjab, said that before serving in Peshawar, he had heard about many misconceptions about the city.
“But after serving here, I am now in a position to tell my friends in Punjab that Peshawar is a wonderful place and its residents are very supportive and helpful,” he said. He said he had learnt too much during his service in Peshawar.
