DIR: The Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) has asked the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to immediately issue a notification of its elected candidate, Izazul Mulk Afkari, in the by-election of PK-95.
A prominent figure of the JI, Rahatullah, while talking to media persons in Dir, said that it was unfair with the people of PK-95 that they were being kept deprived of their elected representative without any reason.
He said that after their defeat, the rival parties had launched a propaganda war against the JI and its elected member.
Rahat said the ECP, observers, Pakistani and international media had covered the election and no-one had reported that the JI had disenfranchised women on the polling day.
He criticised the ECP for stopping the notification of Izazul Mulk Afkari as an elected member over propaganda of some organisations and rival parties.
