LHC donates Rs8.9m to Quetta attack affectees

The Lahore High Court has donated Rs8.9 million to families of the Quetta suicide attack martyrs.
LHC Registrar Khurshid Anwar Rizvi handed over a cheque to Baluchistan High Court Chief Justice Muhammad Noor Meskanzai. Judges, officers and other staff of the LHC had contributed to a fund established by Chief Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah for the victims of the carnage.
At least 70 people were killed in the suicide attack on Quetta Civil Hospital. A majority of them was lawyers.
Quack jailed: A drug court on Saturday awarded one-year jail to a man on charges of running a clinic without a licence.
The court also imposed a fine of Rs20,000 on the convict, Abdul Rehamn. A team of the health department had raided Al-Rehman Clinic and found that owner Abdul Rehman was running it without obtaining a licence from health department. Later, a case was registered against him and challan was submitted in the drug court.
On Saturday, Chairman Drug court after hearing the final arguments of both the parties convicted Abdul Rehman as he was proved guilty of running his clinic without permit.
