Aitzaz says he has read the reference; Nawaz can be
disqualified hundred times; Ayaz proves his bias

ISLAMABAD: Awami Muslim League (AML) chief Shaikh Rasheed Ahmed said on Monday that National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq was a coin inscribed with Nawaz Sharif picture on both the sides.

He expressed these remarks while talking to a private TV channel in reaction to the rejection of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) reference filed with National Assembly seeking Nawaz Sharif disqualification on the revelations in the Panama papers.

Meanwhile, Leader of the Opposition in the Senate Aitzaz Ahsan said that he had studied the reference against the prime minister and found that he could be disqualified hundred times on the basis of evidence against him in it.

“The prime minister can be disqualified after every ten allegations against him,” he noted.  He pointed out the statement of his own finance minister was against the prime minister. The speaker had proved that nothing could be done against the rulers, whatever they wished to do, he said.

He said that NA Speaker Ayaz Sadiq had proved his biased approach by withholding the reference against the prime minister and forwarding the one against PTI Chairman Imran Khan to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) for consideration.

Talking to media persons outside the Parliament House after boycotting the Senate sitting on finding the ministers missing from the proceedings, Aitzaz said the attitude of the government in Parliament was lamentable while the ministers showed no interest in important national security matters.

“That is why, we did not stage token walkout from the Senate, rather, we boycotted the sitting and we shall closely watch presence of ministers tomorrow to chalk out our line of action accordingly,” he maintained.
