Cop killed, two injured in Peshawar roadside blast
PESHAWAR: A cop was killed while two persons sustained injuries in a bomb attack on a patrolling van of the police on the Pajaggi Road in the provincial capital on Sunday. Police officials said unidentified terrorists had planted explosives in a pressure cooker on the roadside near Aslam Dheri, which went off when a patrolling car was passing by the spot.
The driver of the patrolling car was killed in the explosion. He was identified as Naveed Khan, a resident of Sheikh Killay. According to the locals, Sudais, 10, and one Yousaf, 40, sustained minor injuries and were taken to the Lady Reading Hospital.
The incidents of terror have increased in the province over the last few days. Thirteen persons were killed in a suicide attack in Mardan while four suicide bombers were killed by security forces on the Warsak Road in Peshawar.
