LAHORE

Ramesh Singh Arora, Sikh MPA, while coming hard on the statement of Indian Defence Minister Manohar Parekar against Pakistan Thursday said Brahmin mindset is once again active against our dear homeland.

“Pakistan is our Makkah. It is the most sacred place for us. We cannot tolerate a single word against it. I request the federal government to summon the Indian ambassador and hold him answerable for the statement of the Indian defence minister,” said Ramesh Singh Arora while speaking on the floor of Punjab Assembly in the session reserved for debate over Held Kashmir situation. Indian Defence Minister had used derogatory remarks against Pakistan. Ramesh Arora said the remarks had hurt the sentiments of Sikh Community of Pakistan, which was living with peace and love here.

He said Sikhs were serving in different institutions including armed forces and police like other Pakistanis and they loved their country a lot.  He said the way minorities were being treated in India, particularly under the Modi Raj, things didn’t need any explanation.

Amid slogans of ‘Pakistan Zindabad and Kashmir Banay Ga Pakistan”, Ramesh Arora slammed the Indian defence minister and stated that Pakistan was created with the joint struggle of Muslims and minorities, adding it would remain forever.

He said Modi Sarkar was once again promoting its nefarious agenda while targeting innocent people in Held Kashmir whose hearts throb with Pakistan.

He said the tirade of Indian leadership against Pakistan was the reflection of ‘Brahmin’ mentality which always wanted to achieve its goal while dividing others.

He said Pakistan was the birthplace of Baba Guru Nanak, Guru Ram Das and the entire history showed that there existed unprecedented love between Muslims and Sikhs of the region.

He said the foundation of Golden Temple, Amritsar Sahib was laid by a Muslim saint and he was held in great esteem in the Sikh community. Besides, he said for last many centuries, Sikhs and Muslims lived in harmony but through a planned conspiracy by Brahmin mindset, rifts were created between them.

Ramesh said history was also a proof for the fact that record development in Punjab was done in the era of Maharaja Ranjeet Singh who was son of this soil.

Later, participating in the debate, Waheed Gul Khan, another PML-N member, said Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had quite wisely pleaded the case of Kashmir. He slammed Indian government for tyranny in Kashmir.

The members who participated in the debate included Punjab Minister Raja Ashfaq Sarwar, Saadia Sohail, Rana Arshad, Dr Farzana Nazir and others. The House expressed solidarity with Kashmiri brethren while chanting slogans against the Indian government.
