Accused Nauman Khokhar remanded into police custody

Islamabad: Anti terrorism court has handed over, Nauman Khokhar, allegedly involved in killing of Barrister Fahad Malik, on five-day physical remand into police custody with orders to produce him in the court on September 05, 2016 in next hearing.

Nauman Khokhar was presented before Anti-Terrorism Court and ATC Judge Syed Kausar Abbas Zaidi here on Wednesday ordered the police to take accused Nauman Khokhar into police custody on five-day physical remand. The court also ordered to conduct medical of Nauman Khokhar.

Meanwhile, accused Nauman Khokhar in the murder of Barrister Fahad Malik was also produced in Islamabad court and duty Judge accepted the bail of accused Nauman Khokhar in illegal weapons case against Rs50,000 surety bonds.

On other side, Chief Commissioner Office Islamabad dispatched a letter to Additional Chief Secretary Fata, Secretariat to transfer key accused of Barrister Fahad Malik’s murde, Raja Arshad Mehmood from Khyber Agency to Islamabad. The letter dispatched to Additional Secretary Fata read out, “Raja Arshad Mehmood is nominated in case FIR numbered 239 dated 15-08-2016 under section 302/324/148/ 149/337-F(III) PPC of Police Station Shalimar, Islamabad. Non-bail able warrants of arrest of accused Raja Arshad Mehmood has been issued from the court of competent jurisdiction. It is reported that accused Raja Arshad Mehmood has been arrested through Assistant Political Agent, Landi Kotal under section 122./123/11 40 FCR and presently on physical remand. The accused person is required to be transferred from Landi Kotal to Islamabad for the purpose of Investigations.”

It is worth mentioning here that key accused of Barrister Fahad Malik’s murder case, Raja Arshad was arrested from Torkham border while trying to get cross Pakistan’s border into Afghanistan.
