PML-N, PTI members lock horns in district council session

MANSEHRA: Members of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) exchanged harsh words after a PML-N member snubbed opposition leader during his speech in the council on Tuesday.

The members of ruling PML-N and PTI confronted each other when opposition leader in the council Saeed Khan objected to distribution of development funds. “We want distribution of equal funds for councillors, women, peasants, youths and minorities elected on reserved seats,” said Saeed.

However, a PML-N councillor Ahmad Yar Khan snubbed him, saying that government would do whatever it wished.After the PML-N leader remarks the opposition and treasury members exchanged harsh words but Tehsil Nazim Khuram Khan Swati settled the issue.

A member of PML-N from city Raja Ayaz criticised Tehsil government, saying though a contractor who achieved bidding for pavements shops at Larti Adda had been receiving the fee without the approval of council which was illegal and liable for accountability. He said that Tehsil government failed to enforce the resolution approved by the council.
