MULTAN: Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) Chairman Dr Tahirul Qadri has said the country and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif cannot go side by side and his party’s Qisas movement will culminate in the end of PML-N government.

Addressing a PAT rally, taken out from Ghanta Ghar to Nawan Shehr and a protest meeting at Dera Adda, Dr Qadri said Nawaz was a security risk and he was the investment of Indian Prime Minister (Narendra Modi).

The rally participants also staged a sit-in against the killing of 14 PAT workers in Lahore. Qadri addressed the rally via video-link from Lahore. Awami Muslim League Chairman Sheikh Rashid Ahmed, former Punjab governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar, MNA Jamshed Dasti and others also spoke on the occasion.

Dr Qadri said the PAT workers were killed because his party had challenged rulers’ corruption, terrorism and anti-people policies. The PAT chief said why Nawaz Sharif had kept mum at the attacks on the armed forces in the parliament, the arrest of Indian spy, Quetta incident and the ruthless attack on citizens in Indian-held Kashmir.

He said the country’s solidarity was in danger but the “Motorway Brothers” were busy in inaugurating useless projects. Sh Rashid Ahmed, Khwaja Aamir Fareed Goreja, Fayyaz Warraich, Sardar Shakir Mazari, Dr Zubair and others also addressed the rally and sit-in, which was attended by thousands of PAT workers, women and leaders. Several leaders of the opposition parties and members of the civil society also attended the sit-in.

He said the prime minister had loads of money stashed in banks abroad and he had purchased the persons who were supposed to provide his party justice. Dr Qadri said the Supreme Court and the Army Chief were all out for elimination of corruption and terrorism. “We ask these state institutions to give us justice.” He said 150 mega scandals of corruption were waiting for justice.
