SUKKUR: Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Syed Khursheed Shah on Saturday said the MQM chief Altaf Hussain was an Indian supporter and facilitator.

Inspecting a development project here, he said the MQM issue would be exposed in the coming eight to 10 days, as the party members had disowned Altaf Hussain.

“We have to agree to the fact that Farooq Sattar is running the MQM Pakistan.” He said India was playing games with Pakistan, which need to get answered by the media.

He said the Kashmir issue had been raised in various ways in Karachi but other provincial issues always lessen the importance of the Kashmir problem.

Talking about the problems of Sukkur, he said the city’s sewerage issue could be resolved by dividing it into four parts but the project would cost Rs3-4 billion.

He said development plans were underway in Sukkur, as SIUT Women University, cancer hospital, arts college and Sardar Ghulam Muhammad Khan Mahar Medical College were under construction while water purification plan was also on the list. — Agencies

News Desk adds from Rawalpindi: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl chief Maulana Fazlur Rahman has demanded MQM chief Altaf Hussain’s trial on treason charges.

He said the MQM was made by General Ziaul Haq and brought up by General Pervez Musharraf.

He said there was no peace in Afghanistan so where would the Afghan refugees go. He said if human right violations continued in Pakistan, it could not achieve development.
