KARAK: District Nazim Dr Umar Daraz and his father Noor Daraz along with other members of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Saturday accused the Adviser to Chief Minister on Prisons Affairs Malik Qasim Khan Khattak of recruiting 750 persons in the Prisons Department in violation of merit.
They made the allegation at a protest meeting held at the Town Hall in Karak city.
They felt that Malik Qasim Khattak had earned a bad name for the party.
They alleged that he had not carried out any uplift project in his constituency in Karak despite spending billions of rupees of royalty from oil and gas reserves.
The meeting alleged that 90 percent people couldn’t benefit from water supply schemes that were supposed to have been completed as these projects existed only on paper.
They alleged that that Malik Qasim Khattak’s guesthouse was being run with the funds meant for prisons.
They warned Malik Qasim Khattak to mend his ways or else they would stage protest sit-in against him outside his guesthouse.
They asked PTI Chairman Imran Khan to take back the portfolio of prisons department from Malik Qasim Khattak. It may be added that Malik Qasim Khattak was elected MPA from Karak as an independent candidate in the 2013 general election but he later joined the PTI and was made an advisor to the chief minister.
