Activist quits MQM in Chitral
CHITRAL: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) district in-charge and member provincial coordination committee Abdul Rehman has resigned from the party after Altaf Hussain’s anti-Pakistan remarks.
Talking to the media, he said the anti-Pakistan outburst, use of indecent language against state institutions and attack on offices of media houses were the reasons behind his resignation from the party’s basic membership.
He said he cannot remain associated with the party after the MQM chief Altaf Hussain anti-state diatribe. Abdul Rehman added that it had become a precedent that Altaf Hussain issued anti-state remarks and apologised later.
He said the statement hurt the feelings of the people and the apology was unacceptable. He claimed that several other party members were in contact with him and mulling quitting the party, adding that several councillors had also resigned from the party in Chitral. Abdul Rehman said that he would announce his future course of action soon.
