CM orders flood relief agencies to remain vigilant

Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has ordered the administration and the relief agencies to remain vigilant in view of heavy rains in different cities of the province, including Lahore.

He directed the staff concerned to ensure immediate disposal of water from the low-lying areas and utilise all possible resources in this regard. Shahbaz Sharif directed the administration and senior officers of the institutions concerned to supervise the work. 

Special steps should be taken for smooth flow of traffic, and people should not face any difficulty in this regard, he added. He said that the flow of water in rivers and rainy nullahs should be continuously monitored. He directed the authorities concerned to submit a report to the Chief Minister Office after completing the process of disposal of water.  

Turkey: Shahbaz Sharif, talking at the airport before his departure to Turkey, said that he is going to Turkey on special invitation of Turk President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. 

During his visit, he said, memoranda of understanding would be signed for enhancing cooperation in different sectors between Punjab government and Turkey.

He said the friendship between both countries would touch new heights due to increasing cooperation between Punjab government and Turkey.

He said there was a strong bond of mutual respect and affection between the two countries. Shahbaz Sharif said that brotherly relations between Pakistan and Turkey were transforming into strong economic cooperation.
