The petition was accepted by the Consulate, following which the protesters dispersed. Heavy contingents of Police and Rangers had reached the British Consulate in Karachi due to the protests and in wake of yesterday's unrest in the city.
Due to the situation, roads from the British Consulate up to Do Talwar at Clifton were blocked.
The protesters outside the British Consulate were holding banners that demanded arrest of the MQM chief. Women and children were also among protesters.
