Isolated rain forecast

LAHORE

Scattered rain was witnessed in the city while humidity was high here Monday while Met office predicted more isolated rains on Wednesday (today).

The Met officials said seasonal low lies over North Balochistan while another low pressure area lies over central parts of Rajasthan (India). Under the influence of this weather system, monsoon currents restarted to penetrate eastern parts of the country. They said a shallow westerly wave lies over Kashmir and its adjoining areas.

They predicted mainly hot and humid weather in most parts of the country.

They said rain-thunderstorm was also expected at few places of Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Bahawalpur, Mirpurkhas divisions, Fata, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.

Rain was also recorded in other cities, including Malam Jabba (38mm), Lower Dir (07mm), Peshawar (04mm), Bannu (02mm), Saidu Sharif (02mm), Cherat (01mm), Mangla (37mm), Noorpur Thal (20mm), Kasur (08mm), Sargodha (07mm), Murree (07mm), Joharabad (06mm), Chakwal (05mm), Jhelum (04mm), Mandi Bahauddin (04mm), Sialkot (03mm), Islamabad (02mm), Barkhan (27mm), Garhi Dupatta (21mm), Kotli (03mm), Rawalakot (02mm), Chhor (13mm), Mithi (09mm) and Skardu (01mm).

Monday’s highest maximum temperature was recorded at Turbat where mercury reached 46°C while in Lahore, maximum temperature was 34°C and humidity was 65 percent.
