KARACHI: The Anti Human Trafficking Circle of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) arrested six Iranian nationals on Friday for being allegedly involved in human trafficking and also seized passports and CNICs.
Deputy Director Ashfaq Alam Khan of the Anti Human Trafficking Circle said the arrests were made in the old city area after a tip-off was given by an informant.
The FIA personnel conducted a raid and detained the six Iranians with Pakistani CNICs and passports containing Dubai visas.
They also seized 157 Pakistani passports and 115 computerised national identity cards from the possession of agents Mohammed Hassan and Jalil. Their arrests were made at the Aaath Chowk near the Al-Jabal Hotel in Lyari.
The deputy director said the manager of the hotel, Noor Mohammad, and Shahzad Ali were providing facilities to the foreigners during their stay at the hotel.
The suspects had been carrying out their criminal activities in collusion with local officials for the past many years, he added.
Khan said he held a meeting with NARA, Special Branch and Nadra officials and they were planning a grand operation in this regard.
