Water supply to several parts of the city was suspended after a 72-inch pipeline from Thatta burst on Sunday.
According to a Karachi Water and Supply Board (KWSB) official, the pipeline at Dhabeji Pumping Station had ruptured after a sudden power breakdown, and following the directives of local government minister, the repair work had already started.
However, a Karachi Electric (KE) spokesperson stated that the station’s power supply was interrupted for a short while and had been restored. Only last month the station faced a power breakdown as many parts of the city were left without water for more than 25 hours and around 200 million gallons of water was lost.
