Three suspects of attack on Shuja Khanzada arrested
Suspects were staying in capital madrassa

ISLAMABAD: Three suspects involved in theassassination of Punjab Home Minister Colonel (retd) Shuja Khanzada were arrested from a seminary, Madrassa Haqqania, in F-8/3 late on Thursday night, sources said. The arrests were made during a joint operation carried out by the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), Lahore, and Rangers. The suspects were taken to an unknown location for interrogation.
“The suspects hunted down by the law enforcement agencies were among those who were identified as planners and facilitators and the intelligence agencies were following them after they were marked as members of the outfit involved in the assassination of Shuja Khanzada,” the sources maintained, adding that the raid was kept secret and the local police and other law enforcement agencies were not informed about it.
“Qari Imradullah, Qari Irshad and Shaukat were marked as active members of the group responsible for the suicide attack at Shuja Khanzada’s house in his native village in Attock on August 17 this month,” the sources added.
The raid was conducted on the information of an intelligence agency late on Thursday night, when the three suspects were present in the seminary, the sources said and added that the suspects arrived at the Madrassa for night stay. The main suspect wanted to the CTD was Shaukat who was involved in other terrorism activities too, the sources added.
