Karachi
A 20-year-old youth was stabbed to death at a house in the New Karachi police limits on Thursday by a group of five people that, according to police officials, included his younger brother and sister. However, no arrests had been made in the case till the filing of this report.
Police identified the victim as Kashan, 20, son of Nadeem, and said he was attacked with knives by five people, including his younger brother, Arsalan, and sister, Urooj, at their residence in Sector 11-D, North Karachi.
It was said the perpetrators had fled the house after the murder, locking it from the outside.
The murder was reported once other members of the family returned home. The body was shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for legal formalities.
Police were nowhere in the case yet, with no arrests having been made till the evening, and were treating the case as a murder driven by a domestic dispute.
Bodies found
Two men were found dead in the Mauripur police limits on Thursday with their hands tied and bodies bearing torture marks and bullet wounds.
Officials were unsure of the men’s identities but said both were between 30 to 35 years old.
The bodies were found dumped in a drain near Gate 1 of the Mauripur truck stand. Police took the bodies to the Civil Hospital for a postmortem where a medic-legal officer said that both corpses were at least three days old.
The MLO also confirmed that both men had been subjected to severe torture and both had been shot thrice on the chest.
The area police offered a customary explanation in which they tried to pass off the crime as a kidnapping case and claimed that the bodies had just been dumped in their jurisdiction.
