‘Govt providing socio-economic
assistance to special persons’

BAHAWALPUR: DCO Dr Ahtesham Anwar Mehr has said that the government is providing maximum socio-economic assistance, including job opportunities, to the special persons.
He said this while presiding over a high level meeting to review various measures being taken for rehabilitating of the special persons at his office here on Tuesday. The DCO said that the government was committed to provide maximum job opportunities both at public and private institutions to the special persons especially in Bahawalpur district. He directed to the concerned officials to pay special attention to ensure job opportunities for the special persons in private departments as 3 per cent quota was already reserved for them. Three translators would also be appointed at a special cell at the designated places, which would help the special persons, he added. He said that the Punjab Social Protection Authority would be requested to extend financial assistance to the special persons holding Khidmat Cards.
