ISLAMABAD: The PTI MNA Asad Umar has said that if Minister for Climate Change Senator Mushahidullah Khan’s statement is proved true, a treason case should be initiated against Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) former director general (DG) Zaheerul Islam.
In a statement, he said Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif should take a clear stand on the issue. He said theatrical tactics like “good coup” and “bad coup” should not be displayed. He said if the premier thinks Mushahidullah Khan’s statement is wrong then he should subject him to a case.
The PTI lawmaker said Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has also levelled serious allegations against former Zaheerul Islam.
Meanwhile, on a micro-blogging website, Asad Umar asked the prime minister to sack his cabinet member Mushahidullah Khan over levelling false allegations against former the former ISI chief. The statement came a day after Mushahidullah Khan in an interview accused former Zaheerul Islam of seeking to seize power by toppling civil and military leaderships.
