This refers to the letter, ‘Focus’ (Aug 4) by Asma Bushra Jahangir. The writer has very aptly pointed out the inefficiency and apathy of the National Police Foundation which is responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of a part of the E11/3 and E11/4 sectors. People have spent their entire earnings to make nice houses here but the hygienic conditions and infrastructure problems make the area unliveable. The E11 sector, on the other hand, is maintained so well that CDA sectors are no match for it. If another private housing society can organise a sector better than CDA why can’t the NPF do that too?
That said, it must be pointed out that the CDA is equally responsible for the misery of the residents of this sector. They are dragging their feet on road building. It seems that the only way there can be an improvement in efficiency within the NPF sector is if the PM directly intervened. He did that in the case of the Kashmir Expressway and the result was very gratifying. The PM secretariat’s is requested to issue a directive to both the CDA and the NPF to take immediate action by repairing and carpeting all roads here.
