On Thursday, the KMC chief had said the citizens of Karachi looked up to the corporation for resolving their problems, and KMC officers should therefore have to perform the duties diligently.

The officers should provide better facilities to the citizens by using their capabilities for the improvement and progress of the city, he said while addressing as chief guest a ceremony held by the KMC Officers Welfare Association in the KMC Sports Complex on Thursday.

President Jamil Farooqui and General Secretary Bilal Manzar of the association also addressed the ceremony.

Members of the association attended the programme, where various prizes, besides an Umrah ticket, were also given away through balloting.

KMC Administrator Ahmed said all issues had to be resolved through mutual understanding and negotiations.

He said some KDA officers and staff indulged in improper behaviour when they forcibly obtained different offices of Civic Centre for their own use.

He said he himself wanted to solve all such issues legally and that was why no resistance was put up by the KMC to KDA officers and staff over that kind of behaviour.
