KARACHI: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has announced major reshuffle in the Inland Revenue Service (IRS) and notified transfers, postings of 208 officers in BS-17 to BS-21.
The transfers and postings have been notified through three different office orders issued on Friday evening.
Sources in the Corporate RTO Karachi said that at the start of the fiscal year, the FBR issued notifications regarding transfers and postings. However, this year the quantum is high due to creation of corporate RTOs and Large Taxpayers Offices (LTUs) in Karachi and Lahore.
The sources said that most of the officials have been posted to the newly-created tax offices. Prior to this transfer orders the FBR had already issued jurisdiction orders of such LTUs and RTOs, they said.
The sources also said that some officers, who had completed mandatory Senior Management Course (SMC) and National Management Course (NMC) have been assigned new places.
